ADVANTAGE GPOSM ANNOUNCES NEWEST PARTICIPANT
Genova Products, Inc. Joins to Pursue Significant Costs Savings with Advantage GPO
Schaumburg, Illinois, September 16, 2008 – Advantage GPOSM, a buying consortium designed to increase the profitability of its members, announces Genova Products, Inc., as the program’s newest participant. Genova will now be able to take advantage of significant cost savings on products and services such as packaging supplies, MRO, TL/LTL freight, office products and telecommunications.
Genova Products, Inc. headquartered in Davison, MI, with offices in Lithuania and England, and factory or warehouse locations in Minnesota, Indiana, Nevada, Texas and Pennsylvania, manufactures sturdy, maintenance free PVC home improvement products. Originally recognized for plumbing products when it began in 1962, the company expanded into vinyl gutter and vinyl fencing products, as well as vinyl wire management, vinyl decking, vinyl railing and choice lattice.
“We know from talking to our members that rising raw material and transportation costs are raising serious concerns in 2008,” said Timothy S. Farrell, AHMA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, “and rising commodity prices, combined with a fluctuating Purchasing Managers Index are putting great pressure on U.S. manufacturers, which is why we developed a group purchasing program in the first place.”
Advantage GPOSM gives members the ability to take advantage of the buying power of more than 500 companies to leverage pricing on items ranging from raw materials to office supplies from more than 110 endorsed suppliers. AHMA members, as well as other industry manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers can join Advantage GPOSM.
“We spent a considerable amount of time and energy conducting due diligence on the Advantage GPOSM program,” said Dave Paige, Materials Manager at Genova Products, Inc. “This involved confirming our savings estimates and ensuring that Genova can take advantage of supplier relationships and other benefits offered through the program. Based on our findings, we are excited about moving ahead and participating in Advantage GPOSM.”
The ability to estimate potential savings is an easy process. Interested parties simply go to www.ahma.org/gpo and click on the savings calculator. After completing a minimum of five categories and the projected annual spend in those categories, the savings calculator reveals a projected savings range. The company then requests a meeting with Advantage GPOSM to determine next steps and join the program.
